I've drawn the protagonist of my comic. He's based on the villain from Alan Moore's "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" comics. I don't think I'm going to use any dialogue or word bubbles. Maybe a tiny bit of narration but mostly going to focus on filling up a large frame. Start with mad scientist creating a robot. Soon robots fill the frame and maybe the last frame will be the frane itself expanding and breaking. Finally maybe I'll have a full page spread of robots running wild. I want to use blacks, reds, greens and maybe some orange or yellow. Lots of shadows...

robots
I've been drawing lots of different pictures of robots and I think my piece might turn into something that starts with a lot of simplicity and slowly gets more an more complicated and cluttered. I've also been thinking of something about a mad scientist creating a robot and liking it so much that he creates more and more until the frame is full of robots. I might use the same frame settingin all the frames. I want to use watercolor or colored pencil but I also want it to be pretty dark.

more thoughts...
I've been drawing some drafts of characters and actions that may go on in my comic. Thus far all I've drawn are different robots jumping from frame to frame. I'm using the really old-fashioned motion lines where you see a lighter image of a moving character get darker as it moves across the paper and then finally lands in a solid, bold form. I've also been thinking about using a full page to draw the focus of the piece and then have something moving from frame to frame around this full page, maybe even coming off of the page. I've also been wondering what to do with color in terms of getting my point across. Color? Black and white? I guess I'll keep playing around with it.
